First Week of Advent Our Savior News

Advent Suppers and Service Begin today at 6pm

The theme for this year’s Midweek Advent Services will be Christmas Trees. All of us likely put up some kind of Christmas tree decorations for the season, whether real or fake, using colored or white lights. Some people even have themed Christmas trees. The custom is so ingrained in our culture that the meaning of a tree is easily lost in the bustle of secularized Christmastime celebrations. The best customs of the church point us to Christ, and the Christmas tree is no different. The midweek Advent services will go back to the trees of Scripture that point us to Christ and the meaning of his coming to earth.

Men’s Bible Study continues on Saturday

               This Saturday at 10am we will continue Bible Study. We will conclude our look at Solomon’s reign in 1 Kings 8-11.

Christmas in Perry Event December 14th

               Volunteers who would like to spend time at the booth please let Pastor Helwig know. We will plan to meet at church around 4:30 before the event begins.
